Abstract

The identification of professional competences allows the setting of performance expectations and development plans. In the professional training system in recent years, curricula have been designed focusing on competencies, based on the social request expected from professionals in training or already in practice, the
latter subjected to a system of continuous postgraduate training, due to the need to adapt themselves to the changing contexts which demand new knowledge, skills and values, to successfully fulfill their duties. Considering the growth of the technological infrastructure in the country in all areas, and taking into account
labor and territorial factors, the groups of teachers in charge of the professionals´ training have faced the challenge of using Virtual Teaching-Learning Environments to favor the development of professional competencies, among them, the
communicative competence in the English language. This paper aims at presenting a Commercial English Online Course for developing communicative competence in the English language of foreign trade professionals from CIMEX Enterprise Group, which is based on the use of such environments. The results of
the course implementation are also given in this work.
