Analysis of research on the evaluation of the Cuban distance education model
Keywords:

The distance education in Cuba has experienced favorable development since the creation, in 2016, of the Cuban Higher Education Distance Education Model. Since its inception, the model has beenimplemented in several university degrees and postgraduate programs. Given the importance of evaluation to verify compliance with the model's stipulations, several researchers have developed proposals aimed at assessing its implementation. Following the identified investigations, the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba issued Resolution No. 15/2023, which specifies the rules for the implementation of the model, requiring a review of the proposals submitted to date to verify compliance with the provisions of said rule. The objective of this research is to critically analyze the existing proposals at the national level for the evaluation of the implementation of the distance education model, with the purpose of characterizing the methods used in the evaluation process. The research employed a qualitative methodology that allowed the analysis of seven investigations that show a diversity of approaches and dimensions used in the evaluation. An analysis was conducted of the factors considered in the studied research, in relation to the model's components. It is noteworthy that several evaluations are designed according to the institutional context, which limits standardization and comparison between the results obtained. The research identifies favorable aspects to consider in the design of future proposals.
