Alternative for teaching “Series and their Applications” in Electrical Engineering

Cuban higher education needs a new vision in the interaction between students, teachers and the use of mathematical assistants in problem solving, demanding the creation of new teaching and learning models, new procedures and strategies for searching, organizing, processing and using information. This implies that this level of education is immersed in a profound revolution, conditioned by the demands of the current Cuban society. This article is the result of the professional experience and analysis of the authors, in which the particularities of the teaching of the subject “Series and its applications” are analyzed, which allowed proposing a new structure for the study and evaluation of the same within the subject Mathematics III in the study plan E for the Electrical Engineering career, with the purpose of achieving a better use and a greater motivation of the students.
