The consolidation of historical culture in the training of engineers and architects

Cuban higher education has as its essential task the comprehensive training of human beings, with scientific, technological and humanistic knowledge. In the training of engineers, the consolidation of historical culture contributes to the connection of the History of Cuba with the technical subjects of the engineering curriculum. Its purpose is to achieve greater motivation of students towards the knowledge of the history of their country and to develop feelings of identity in them. These very necessary values are also part of the formative intention that is intended to be achieved in the training of engineers and architects at the Technological University of Havana "José Antonio Echeverría", Cujae, context where this research is carried out. To this end, a methodology was developed that would allow strengthening, in these students, the historical culture of their country and the environment where they live, from interrelation with their profession. Therefore, the objective of this article is to describe the methodological proposal and its assessment, for the consolidation of the historical culture that allows the engineering student to link his profession with the historical social context in which he lives. A more cohesive pedagogical work was developed in order to train a professional with greater interest and responsibility in his future work as an engineer.
