Systematization on the integration of ICT as a mediating instrument of the teaching-learning process

The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the growing tendency to adopt these technologies in the execution of processes of all types, have made it a priority to carry out the digital transformation of the teaching-learning process. This contributes to the fulfillment of objective 4 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by organizations and governments. However, it is not enough to only look at this phenomenon from a technological point of view; it is also necessary to understand how the teaching-learning process occurs and how ICT can facilitate it. Hence, the objective of this article is to systematize the integration of ICT as a mediating instrument of the teaching-learning process to obtain a technological and pedagogical vision of this phenomenon based on its historical evolution at an international level. This phenomenon expands and speeds up access to information and enables the adaptability and personalization of learning in the development of digital skills, motivation and engagement. It has been marked by technological advances and changes in educational practices. In the study of its historical evolution, 4 stages are identified: Exploration and introduction, Interaction and collaboration, Pedagogical transformation and Acceleration.
