At the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, Digital Electronics professors face the challenge of keeping this discipline updated in a technological scenario that is constantly evolving. At the same time, Cuban higher education began in 2016 the process of designing the new generation of E curriculum. The objective of this paper is to present essential aspects of the methodological updating carried out on the content system of the Digital Electronic discipline, aimed at meeting the new challenges in the teaching of this discipline, the new demands of society and the E curriculum. Four skills were emphasized in the update: the design and analysis of digital circuits; the description of digital circuits through the documentation established by international standards; the use of computational tools (CAD) in the analysis, synthesis and verification of digital circuits; the promotion of cooperative learning and self-learning. Skills were enhanced through concrete actions. The changes in the content system of the Digital Electronics discipline have had a favorable impact on various technical and formative aspects that prepare students for insertion in diverse and changing technological scenarios in the field of engineering
