The study of local history in the professional training process

In this XXI century where accelerated changes take place, Cuban Higher Education is forced to formulate new strategies that respond to the demands that derive from the local context, being necessary to focus attention on the professional training process, on the methods and management styles that contribute to a greater participation, of the same as active subjects of these transformations, for which in this investigation it is posed as a problem; How to contribute to the study of local history in the professional training process from a curricular perspective? conceiving as an objective: to propose a methodology for the study of local history from the Main Integrative Discipline in the Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, from the “Julio Díaz Gonzalez” Artemisa University. The integral characterization of the locality is taken as a starting point, mobilizing the physical-geographical components; economic-geographical; historical-social and historical heritage in the professional training process from a curricular perspective, based on the new Study Plan E. Through bibliographic review, diagnosis, and applied instruments, the theory that was put into practice was built, and it was enriched until it gave rise to the results referred to here. Presenting as a result the proposal of a methodology for the study of local history from the Main Integrative Discipline in the Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education.
