Comprehensive Ethical Preparation of the University Professor, a Fundamental Link in the Training of New Generations

Abstract

An article is presented where aspects related to the ethics of the university education professional were addressed, and their relationship with the training of students. The validity of the topic was taken into account, as well as the need to change the role of the university professor in Cuba within the framework of a socially responsible university. The objective is to systematize the importance of the ethics of the Higher Education professional in their context of action and its relationship with the training of students, which allows us to reach the conclusion that the comprehensive ethical preparation of the university professor is of of special interest for Cuban Higher Education due to its impact on the process of formation of the student's personality, it must have the essential quality of being “integral”, transcending the particular discipline it teaches, and integrating the components: ethical-moral, cultural, political and ideological, psychopedagogical and environmental.
