The subject Introduction to Physics as a propedeutic solution in distance education

In November 2021, after the most aggressive Covid -19 pandemic period, distance courses were delivered at the "José A. Echeverría" Technological University of Havana, Cujae. For the opening of the course, it was taken into account that the new students had spent almost two years without studying, so a first period was planned with a strategic nature with the purpose of reinforcing the development of study skills through subjects included in the study plan such as Introduction to Physics. In this case, the teaching- learning process focused on a review of the essential basic contents and the development of learning tasks that emphasized the systematic treatment of physical magnitudes and their units, the development of skills in operations with vectors, the kinematic and dynamic description of mechanical movement and its fundamental laws, the basic operations with vector magnitudes as well as the application of basic trigonometric functions. The objective of the present article is to show the essential characteristics of the course designed with the inclusion of new didactic resources and the comparative results between the delivery of the subjects Introduction to Physics and Physics I during the 2021 academic year.
