Abstract

Educational institutions must focus their help on those students who probably do not finish their studies, addressing the causes for their desertion. At CUJAE 10 years ago, as part of the ALFA-GUIA international project, this issue was analyzed and in the last two courses the issue has been studied again. This article is aimed at providing a first version of conceptualization concerning the indicators that affect the permanence of students at the university, which are considered vulnerability factors. A procedure designed for this purpose was used with the 2021 cohort. As a result, a set of critical factors and categories that affects the promotion of students and serve as a starting point to identify vulnerable students was determined.
