The Professional Pedagogy in the training of engineers as educators

Abstract

It is universally recognized the existence of a Professional Pedagogy related to the context of different professions. This work deals with an approach to the training of engineers on the foundations of this branch of Pedagogy in order to contribute to their educational function with the new generations and with the workers belonging to the entity where they are integrated. It is based on the need of training engineers not only   in general pedagogic and didactic contents, but also in  specific  contents of engineering branches closely related to their professional context. This article is aimed at reflecting on the role of the Professional Pedagogy in engineers’ training and their formation as educators. The professional Pedagogy and the role of engineers as relevant  productive forces are taken as the basis  for some recommendations made by the author from his position as engineer and professional educator. The essential conclusions of this reflection are the demonstration of the connection existing between the professional Pedagogy and the Economic Sciences, engineers´ training as educators of the working force and the necessity of taking advantage of the potentialities of this branch of the Pedagogy for developing production.
