The evolution and rapid changes of the information and communication technologies demands from higher education institutions, teachers and students to adapt themselves to these changes. The objective of this paper is to identify the main factors involved in the integration of information and communication technologies on the teaching process of medicine in Angola. This is a descriptive study, predominantly qualitative, of the main difficulties for the integration of
information and communication technologies on the educational teaching process in basic medical education in Angola. The study included all higher education institutions that offer courses in basic medicine in Angola. It was
carried out through interviews to the deans, heads of departments, professors and students from these institutions. The paper presents the main difficulties as a result of the diagnosis applied to nine higher education institutions that
offereed medicine courses in Angola in the academic year 2017. The main problems identified by the studied groups were the lack of technological resources, lack of strategies in the institutions for the integration of ICT, lack of qualified technicians that could help teachers and students to face these difficulties and the lack of teachers training for the pedagogical use of these technologies.
