Abstract

The university extension is one of the ways in which university promotes culture, integrates  to  the  development  of  society,  and  establishes  a  close  and multidirectional relationship among the university main processes. In this paper, some  considerations  regarding  the  improvement  of  the  university  extension process are presented, making emphasis on the socio cultural project as a way of  organizing  this  process.  Its  formalization  management  at José  Antonio Echeverría  Technological  University  of  Havana (Cujae) is  shown.  Lastly,  two examples  illustrate  the  results  obtained  in  applying  the  project  in  different contexts. The first example is related to the socio cultural research carried out as part of the project called For a Better Scholarship, particularly, the one referred to the diagnostic phase in using the wealthy and educated free time at the student residence. The second example is directly linked to the cultural promotion of the Cuban History subject in Architecture
