Abstract

Based on a theoretical review and the authors' experience in postgraduate activities, both in Cuba and in other regions of Latin America, an analysis of the postgraduate is carried out from its origin to the generic aspects it addresses, emphasizing doctoral training, its importance, characterization and social perception. Leaving clear the imprint in the universities and the social impact generated by the postgraduate course in general and by the doctoral training in a particular way. Therefore, the objective of this article is to demonstrate the importance and necessity of postgraduate studies in higher education.
