The formation of the mechanical engineer in the contemporary context demands a solid integration of technical, scientific and social skills that enable them to respond to the complex challenges of modern industry. In Cuba, where industrial development is marked by the need for technological sovereignty, energy efficiency and sustainability, this professional profile becomes even more crucial. Within this framework, Mechanical Drawing, far from being a merely instrumental subject, stands as a fundamental pillar in the constitution of the engineer's capabilities. This article aims to analyze, from a theoretical perspective, the influence of the teaching of Mechanical Drawing in the formation of the contemporary Cuban mechanical engineer at the Technological University of Havana, exploring its specific contribution to the dimensions of Science, Technology and Society. Its preparation is based on materialist dialectics, using different theoretical methods. The analysis allows us to argue that this subject is a transversal and indispensable axis that, by promoting precision, standardization, technical creativity and social responsibility, provides the future professional with the necessary tools to contribute significantly to the industrial and technological development of the nation.
