The objective was to determine the specific professional problems in the workplace of the hydraulic engineer during the employment preparation (PPE) at the Superior Organization of Business Management (OSDE) Water and Sanitation. The information was analyzed through document analysis, unstructured interviews with key informants, and the Discussion and Review workshop conducted at the Technical Advisory Committee (CTA) of the Organization itself. The research has a qualitative approach as it studied the combinations of solutions to the specific professional problems that are systematically resolved in the workplace; key informants were identified who provided information and guided the authors, relating to the dynamics of the PPE, from the perspective of those responsible for newly graduated hydraulic engineers. The OSDE has identified the places where the profession is developed, an aspect that guides the direction of the specific professional problems to be solved. The identification of specific professional problems frames their solution by hydraulic engineers within the PPE component, which acquires significant importance as it directly impacts their proper performance and the transition to Graduate Education.
