Higher Education faces the challenge of contributing to building a more just and equitable society and to the sustainability of environmental transformations. The United Nations' 2030 Agenda, along with the policies of the Cuban State and the Ministry of Higher Education, require universities to collaborate with social actors in transforming communities through the application of science, technology, and innovation. Achieving this demands changes in the teaching-learning process and in the ways university integration with businesses and the community is carried out. The objective of the research made was determinate these particularities of the teaching-learning process for training students as agents of sustainable physical and social change in technical sciences degree programs. These characteristics result from a research project linked to a Sectoral Program. Four essential features of this process are identified: cooperation between educators and students, facilitation of professional content mastery, demands of the professional model, and integration of digital technologies into the process. These form a system enabling its study and transformation in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
