Historical overview of the university extension department at CUJAE

Abstract

The Research Project on the University Cultural Heritage of Cujae, CONPACULT, demands to inquire about the historical evolution of the University Extension Direction (hereinafter DEU), as a structure in charge of directing methodologically one of the substantive processes so important, due to its integrating and integrationist essence, and unknown in relation to the rest of the university substantive processes (Teaching and Research); also because of the need to disseminate the history of the structure (DEU) as one more content, arguing the cultural heritage of the Cujae by virtue of directing the DEU the process whose mission and methodology is to promote culture. Hence, the objective of this article is to historically review the evolution of the DEU as a content of the university heritage for the development of the cultural heritage of students, professors of Cujae and society in general. The methods used are the analysis of bibliography and documents, the systemic structure, interviews, life history, participatory observation and triangulation of informants and documents. The structure of the work includes the basic components of historical reviews. It is concluded that the historical review of the DEU is an essential part of the university cultural heritage since the milestones that the historical evolutions of the DEU define in the process, contribute to the development or involution of theoretical and methodological contents of integration with teaching and research, with its corresponding positive impact on the integral formation of students and internal or external communities to the Cujae.
