Abstract

Virtualization in the daily medical teaching-learning process is on the rise in this era of the fourth industrial revolution where technology plays a fundamental role. A poor utilization of ICT has been observed in relation to the improvement of general medicine doctors, particularly in assessment and management of trauma. It is necessary to strengthen the basic  knowledge acquired during posgraduate training. It is essential to contribute to the postgraduate process through virtualization. The objective was to characterize the current state of the improvement of the doctors of the MGI specialty doctors regarding  trauma assessment and management and its virtualization at  Victoria de Girón Faculty. An analytical, retrospective and cross-sectional study was conducted, with a random and stratified sample, defining a main variable with two dimensions: technological and cognitive. Theoretical, empirical, mathematical and statistical methods were used. The results showed a moderate level of use and integration of information technologies in the postgraduate studies. Similarly,  the level of updating and relevance in trauma topics was moderate. The postgraduate improvement variable was evaluated as average. There was a dependency relationship betwen  the cognitive dimension and the technological dimension. With an excellent internal consistency of the questionnaire. It was concluded that establishing a methodological strategy through educational virtuality is necessary to enhance improve competence levels.
