An approach to environmental education from thermodynamics
Keywords:
environmental education, didactic strategies, sustainable development, thermodynamicsAbstract
The main characteristic that education for sustainable development points out is to consider the incorporation of environmental education in programs dedicated to all students, regardless of level, through the application of new concepts, new methods, and new techniques, within the framework of a global effort that promotes sustainable environmental education at all educational levels [1]. Based on the above, a didactic proposal is made through the development of strategies applied by
teachers, to facilitate the insertion of sustainable development in thermodynamics learning units, to reorient higher education towards environmental education. The application of these strategies seeks to promote collaborative work among students,
and based on constructivism, they can acquire knowledge about problems, concepts, and environmental aspects, to form their criteria around sustainable environmental education, and that in the exercise of their profession facilitates interdisciplinary and
transdisciplinary work in their professional training. The foregoing is based on the pedagogical objectives of education for sustainable development that must be incorporated into all subjects, and not be taught as an independent subject.
