Motivation and interdisciplinarity. Pillars to teach defense to engineers.
Abstract
The teaching of the engineering in Cuba has evolved in correspondence with the specialty, the social demands and the concrete conditions of the historical moment. The interest in the formation of an engineer with an integral culture that prioritizes the university student's education and it incorporates to the instruction new elements of the working environment, it dictates that in the curriculum of the engineer's formation a bigger balance is manifested in the correspondence among the disciplines of the basic, technical, social and humanistic sciences. However, when facing the development of the discipline Preparation for the Defense (PPD), in the Engineer in Telecommunications and Electronic in the "José Antonio Echeverría" High Polytechnic Institute, and in Mechanical Engineer in the "Camilo Cienfuegos" University of Matanzas, difficulties are observed with the motivation of the students toward the study. In the initial diagnosis it is evidenced among other elements, problems in the didactics, what indicated the question how to develop the system of knowledge and abilities settled down in the programs of study of the PPD discipline, so that they influence in the positive motivation of the students toward those subjects? It is in this line where our objective is manifested: to present an experience in the employment of the interdisciplinary relationships during the teaching of the The telecommunications and the nets in the defense and National Security subjects, to encourage the motivation toward the study of the subjects that involve the Preparation for the Defense discipline in the engineering careers.
