Abstract

The XXI century society demands and calls for promoting reflections that allow us to appreciate, from different theoretical approaches, the preparation for employment, since it is an area that is still opened to discussion and there are different investigations oriented towards the development of this process that reveals the debate that remains on this subject today. The present article is aimed at systematizing the preparation of the engineer to fulfill the assigned work activity with a social mission. Different methods of the theoretical level were used to interpret facts and data, systematize the information and specify different approaches that allow to reach a generalization level about the preparation for employment, particularly the engineer, and to infer theoretical formulations that support the approach by competencies and the implementation of educational methodologies that prepare the engineer for the labor market under the conception of favoring the new work culture, in which the permanent learning of values, abilities, skills, labor and organizational skills, as well as the capacity for
entrepreneurship. They are becoming the axis that articulates the demands of the productive society.
