Fundaments of the Theory-Practice relationship in a Virtual Anthropometry Laboratory to enhance its use in academic engineering institutions
Abstract
This research is part of the research projects: "The teaching-learning process of technical science careers in Higher Education in environments with a high presence of information and communication technologies" and "Anthropometric study of the
work population Cuban". The subject of the theory-practice relationship in the learning of Anthropometry supported in a virtual laboratory, where the student is involved in the solution of a real problem of his profession, is dealt with. The virtual
laboratories are a didactic tool that allows to enrich the educational process from the integration of Information and Communication Technologies to the teachinglearning process. Among the potential offered by the Virtual Laboratory of
Anthropometry is experimentation without a limited number of iterations, the contextualization and pertinence of the aids as well as the natural and intentional transit between theoretical aspects, exercise and experimentation. In the present
work the behavior of the relationship between theory and practice in the subject Ergonomics is analyzed, in particular during the practice of Anthropometry laboratory and the potential of the virtual laboratory is unveiled to enhance this relationship.
