Topics and Scope

Pedagogical Reference Journal contains articles which are aimed at providing information about specific problems, advances, experiences, history, reflections and theoretical aspects related to the teaching of Engineering and Architecture. It also includes the identification of the initial social needs of university students, the improvement of the curriculum for engineers and architects, the continuous training of professors in Engineering and Architecture careers, the integration of ICT into the teaching –learning process, distance education and other topics concerning the social purpose of this publication.

Editorial:

Documents about the main topic of the journal issue, a national or international special event or significant activity which happens the same date of the publication, written by the editor, a member of the Editorial Board or a guest.

Articles:

  • About Theoretical revision: Articles that deal with the results of a bibliographical searching which analyze, systematize and integrate the points of view of other authors and the results of investigations, either published or not, in the field of Pedagogical Sciences applied to Engineering and Architecture. These articles mainly present a careful bibliographical revision about the advances and development trends concerning these sciences.
  • Reflecting researching results: Articles that focus on project results in the field of Sciences of Education and Pedagogical Sciences related to the teaching of Engineering and Architecture. These articles should be intended to show the advances of the scientific work in these branches. The structure of this kind of article should be adapted to the style of the journal.
  • About experiences in the education of Engineers and Architects: Articles that draw on experiences of professors from different departments to solve pedagogical problems concerning specific disciplines and subject matters considering the theoretical grounds that support these experiences. They should be adapted to the style of the journal.
  • About history and reflection: Articles that collect and spread the history of the development in the institution and departments regarding subjects, labs, outstanding personalities or significant moments in the life of the institution revealed through the activities carried out by students or professors. These articles also reflect the needs and contradictions of the professor when teaching  Engineering and Architecture as well as the ways, experiences and possible solutions to improve their labor. This kind of article should express a synthesis of the historical information provided by the authors and it can show the results of an interview. Its structure should be adapted to the style of the journal.

Information about events, courses and sites of interest for the teaching of Engineering and Architecture linked with the official pages, promotion to virtual discussion spaces and investigation reports showing recent results among other inquires relevant to the pedagogical practice in these careers.

Peer Review Process

The Pedagogical Reference journal is a peer-reviewed publication and it is blind refereed. The referees do not know each other and do not have information about the authors of the articles. The Editorial committee will analyze carefully the articles submitted and will provide feedback and advice in case they are considered appropriate for publication.

Open Access Policy

The Pedagogical Reference journal is an open access electronic publication.
