Development of modeling linear programming problem skills in a virtual teaching-learning environment

Authors

Abstract

The process of developing skills related to professional tasks is a key element when
training students to face the challenges of a society that demands the best and most
capable professionals. The need to analyze the essential components and characteristics
of the skills to model linear programming problems in virtual teaching-learning
environments for supporting the academic training process in university students
constitutes a premise for this research. The research work is aimed at analyzing the
characteristics and essential components of the process to develop the skills of modeling
linear programming problems in virtual teaching-learning environments. It has been
carried based on the review and study of preceding bibliographic documents related to the
aims of this process, the mathematical modeling, the linear programming and the virtual
teaching-learning environments in the period from 2000 to 2020.The full understanding of
the essential components of the process to develop the skills to model linear programming
problems is considered the main result. It concludes with the recognition of the potential
offered by virtual teaching-learning environments to this process.
