In this paper, the program design of the Digital Electronics 1 subject for distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is presented. The program was based on a model in which the student is the protagonist of the process and the teacher adopts a facilitating and guiding role. In the design of the program, the confinement conditions, the objectives that contribute to the study plans, the teaching and methodological work regulations, and the international trends of distance learning were taken into account. The distance course was successfully taught in the Automatic Engineering and Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering careers at the Technological University of Havana. These experiences will be considered for post-pandemic teaching activities in both blended and face-to-face conditions.
